Clinical Science Center opens, bringing together modern inpatient and clinical services with Medical School, School of Nursing and School of Pharmacy training facilities.

UW surgeon Folkert Belzer and biochemist James Southard revolutionize transplant surgery with organ preservation solution.

Governor Tommy Thompson signs budget bill authorizing HealthStar.

McArdle Laboratory and UW Comprehensive Cancer Center combine, receive largest NCI grant ($5.76 million).

Ground is broken for new Health Sciences Learning Center.
