Clinical Simulation Program
Clinical Simulation Program
Several areas within UW Health currently use simulation techniques for teaching specific skills to improve the patient care experience. The mission of the new integrated program is to coordinate current activities and facilitate collaboration in simulation learning across UW Health.

 

Currently, the UW Health Clinical Simulation program can assist with coordination of space, equipment and support for educational activities involving technical, cognitive, behavioral, and communication skills, as well as team training via simulation.

 

The program serves residents, medical students, nurses, physicians, emergency and critical care personnel, and others within and outside the UW Health system.

 

Current offerings include:

  • Effective communication
  • Advanced ACLS, ATLS, and PALS training
  • Interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Mock codes
  • Airway management
  • Systems assessment and improvement
  • Clinician assessment
  • Skills in:
    • Procedures
    • Nursing
    • Medicine
    • Counciling
    • Surgery, including microsurgery and laparoscopy
