Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is dedicated to advancing human health through innovations in imaging and image-guided therapies.
The department, which offers educational programs through the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, has made substantial contributions to the world-renowned reputation of the UW-Madison. Highlights include:
- The publication of the seminal Diagnostic Radiology educational text by Drs. Paul and Juhl in the 1970s
- The development of Digital Subtraction Angiography in the 1980s
- Magnetic Resonance Angiography in the 1990s
- Promising cancer diagnostics and therapeutics in the millennium
The department has catalyzed imaging research by starting the first independent Department of Medical Physics.
