AMCAS
American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS)
AMCAS is a centralized application service sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges. The AMCAS application is available in electronic format only, and is the initial application required of all UW School of Medicine and Public Health applicants.
The application must be completed and submitted to AMCAS by November 1st. Please note that this deadline varies from school to school. Once AMCAS has received your application and transcript(s), it will take approximately four to six weeks to complete the processing cycle. After we receive and review your AMCAS application, qualified applicants will be asked to submit an electronic secondary application (see below for more information).
The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) publishes the book, Medical School Admission Requirements, each year. It contains a two-page entry on each U.S. and Canadian medical school. It lists the requirements for entrance at each school, selection factors and information on deadline dates, oldest MCAT considered, and tuition and fees.
Additional information and registration for the AMCAS application is available at http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas/start.htm.
