American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS)
The American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) is a centralized application service sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). The AMCAS application is available in electronic format only, and is the initial application required of all University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health MD Program applicants.
The application must be completed and submitted to the American Medical College Application Service by November 1. Please note that this deadline varies from school to school. Once AMCAS has received your application and transcript(s), it takes approximately four to six weeks to complete the processing cycle. After we receive and review your AMCAS application, qualified applicants will be asked to submit an electronic secondary application.
The Association of American Medical Colleges publishes a reference book, Medical School Admission Requirements, each year. It contains a two-page entry for each U.S. and Canadian medical school. It lists the requirements for entrance at each school, the selection factors, and information on deadline dates, oldest Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) considered and tuition and fees.
Additional information and registration for the AMCAS application is available at the AAMC Web site.
