Current Partners
The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health has formed community partnerships with the following organizations:
Access Community Health Centers (ACHC): ACHC is a partner for our MEDiC student organization, providing space and resources for our Saturday morning free clinic
AIDS Network (AN): AN is a partner for our MEDiC student organization, providing HIV/STI testing, education and prevention at our free clinics as needed.
Allied Wellness Center (AWC): The AWC is our formal partner for our Caring for Communities Grant program, Allied United for Health. The AWC serves as our home base for all health education outreach programming, provides guidance and supervision for students, and connects area residents to our programs.

ARC Community Services, Inc.: ARC is a women-specific alcohol and drug treatment agency that provides treatment to substance abusing women with a specific focus on pregnant and postpartum women and their infants. ARC also hosts a re-entry program for women transitioning from prison. ARC is a partner for our MEDiC student organization, providing space and resources for our monthly clinic for ARC residents.
Boys & Girls Club of Dane County: The Boys & Girls Club provides a venue for our Medical Students for Minority Concerns student organization’s annual Multicultural Health Fair. They also serve as an informal partner for some of the children’s health education programming conducted by Allied United for Health.
Harambee — South Madison Health & Family Center: Harambee serves as a partner for the UW School of Medicine and Public Health's MEDiC student organization’s Saturday morning free clinic, providing health care eligibility screening and follow up to free clinic patients and visitors.
Madison Dental Initiative: The Madison Dental Initiative, along with the Salvation Army Shelter, serve as partners in our free dental clinic. MEDiC has worked with MDI since 2009, working together to provide free comprehensive dental care to residents of the Salvation Army Shelter and offering educational experiences to medical students.
Madison Metropolitan School District: Three MMSD middle schools work in partnership with our Mentoring Achievement Program (MAP), matching middle school students with medical student mentors.
Madison School and Community Recreation (MSCR) Allied Learning Center: The Madison Metropolitan School District administers a Community Learning Center through MSCR in nine elementary schools and Allied Learning Center. The Allied Learning Center serves as an informal partner for some of the children’s health education programming conducted by Allied United for Health.
Madison Urban Ministry (MUM): MUM serves as a partner in supporting the oversight of our Allied United for Health (CFC grant) program, and in connecting students with cocurricular learning opportunities through their “Voices Beyond Bars” program.
Public Health Madison & Dane County: We have been partnering with public health nurses on a variety of programs, including Hmong Healthy Families outreach and screening programs, emergency preparedness community education programs in Allied Drive, small group conversations guiding the 2020 health plan, chronic disease education and outreach programs and much more.
Porchlight, Inc.: Porchlight has served as a partner of our MEDiC student organization since our first free clinic opened at Porchlight’s men’s homeless shelter in 1991. MEDiC now offers free clinic evenings in a total of three Porchlight facilities.
Salvation Army: The Salvation Army’s shelter for women and families has served as a partner of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health's MEDiC student organization since our second free clinic opened at this shelter in 1991.
