The MD Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison offers a fourth-year family medicine preceptorship with Paul Nelsen, MD, in Berlin.

Welcome Letter from Paul Nelsen, MD

Berlin Memorial Hospital is part of the Community Health Network. Education of future health care professionals is a priority. This is a health care system primarily servicing a three-county area in mid-central Wisconsin. Services include:

  • Paul Nelsen, MD, Berlin PreceptorBerlin Memorial Hospital
    • Acute care
    • OB Department
    • 24-hour staffed Emergency Department
    • Surgical services
  • Juliette Manor (long-term care)
  • 16 Community Health Network owned primary care clinics located throughout our service area
  • Home care
  • Rehabilitation (on-site and satellite locations)

We are a critical access hospital located in beautiful mid central Wisconsin. Our mission is to "Provide superior services to improve the health of those we serve." We are located in a rural part of the state, and yet we are close enough to the Fox River Valley so that one can take advantage of "big city" activities.

Our physicians participate in Continuing Medical Education to keep up with ever-changing health care best practices. We are proud of our organization and the ability to provide excellent care in the rural setting.
