Overarching Course Goals for Patient, Doctor and Society 4

 

PDS 4 Learning Objectives

  1. Refine skills in case presentations and writing medical records
  2. Continue to develop and practice history and physical exam skills
  3. Observe and practice differential diagnoses integrating historical information and physical exam findings
  4. Use medical literature and apply principles of evidence-based medicine to patient care
  5. Recognize common abnormalities of the GI system and describe the clinical significance
  6. Begin to understand the societal and familial ramifications of HIV disease
  7. Understand important ethical dilemmas that arise in patient care
  8. Understand the health issues of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people
  9. Recognize the role of physicians in identifying and responding to sexual assault and domestic violence
