PDS 4 Learning Objectives
- Refine skills in case presentations and writing medical records
- Continue to develop and practice history and physical exam skills
- Observe and practice differential diagnoses integrating historical information and physical exam findings
- Use medical literature and apply principles of evidence-based medicine to patient care
- Recognize common abnormalities of the GI system and describe the clinical significance
- Begin to understand the societal and familial ramifications of HIV disease
- Understand important ethical dilemmas that arise in patient care
- Understand the health issues of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people
- Recognize the role of physicians in identifying and responding to sexual assault and domestic violence
