Ashland Fourth-Year Preceptorship in Family Medicine

The MD Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison offers a fourth-year family medicine preceptorship with Brian Capps, MD, in Ashland.

Welcome Message from Brian Capps, MD

Greetings from Ashland on Lake Superior's south shore. We are the gateway to the Apostle Islands National Lake Shore and the home of Northland College. Enjoy seasonal recreation, bike paths, the Whistlestop Marathon and the Book Across the Bay (ski across the ice in February before the Birkie).

Chequamegon Clinic has seven primary care physicians and a surgeon. Visiting specialties include endocrinology, rheumatology, pulmonoly medicine and dermatology. Elective options include ENT, orthopedics, internal medicine, radiology and pathology.

Memorial Medical Center serves as your landlord with food service provided. This is a twenty-five bed urgent care hospital with full time (busy) ER staffing and Walk In Clinic plus full time radiology and pathology services. All hospital departments are accessible to students as is the Internet. Staff will be in contact two to three weeks prior to arrival.
