Neillsville Fourth-Year Preceptorship in Internal Medicine

The MD Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison offers a fourth-year internal medicine preceptorship with Timothy Meyer, DO, in Neillsville.

Join us to experience rural health care in beautiful Clark County. Neillsville is a friendly community of 3,000 people.

 

Memorial Medical Center consists of a modern 25-bed hospital, multispecialty

clinics, emergency room/level III trauma center, urgent care, home health and long-term care, all under one roof.

 

Timothy Meyer, DO, Neillsville PreceptorWe have an internist, general surgeons, an orthopedic surgeon, a contracted nurse anesthetist, and OB/family medicine providers on staff.

 

We also have consulting physicians with regular office hours, including:

  • Gynecology
  • Podiatry
  • Ophthalmology
  • Pulmonary
  • Urology

Memorial Medical Center will provide housing and meals for students in this preceptorship.

 

Objectives and Content

  • The course will be collaborative and focused to meet students' needs and provide a positive and valuable experience
  • Rotation consists of experiences in primary care, emergency room, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and surgery
  • This is a six-week rotation
  • This preceptorship provides opportunities in office procedures, cardiac stress testing, stress echocardiography, EKG reading and pulmonary function interpretation
  • Call responsibilities will be taken with a physician once a week. No weekend call. Call includes coverage of urgent care and rural emergency room care
