Overarching Course Goals for Patient, Doctor and Society 2
PDS 2 Learning Objectives
- Students will be able to elicit either focused or complete medical histories from patients while applying interviewing skills to build rapport, and explore patients' values and cultures
- Students will be able to perform the basic complete physical examinations, with appropriate attention to patients' modesty
- Students will be able to approach history-taking and documentation with the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in a patient-centered manner
- Students will be able to describe the special considerations in interviewing and examining children, adolescents and older adults
- Students will gain a deeper understanding about the ethical issues in health care
- Students will be able to describe psychosocial, cultural and healthcare systems issues affecting the health of older adults
