Overarching Course Goals for Patient, Doctor and Society 2

 

PDS 2 Learning Objectives

  1. Students will be able to elicit either focused or complete medical histories from patients while applying interviewing skills to build rapport, and explore patients' values and cultures

  2. Students will be able to perform the basic complete physical examinations, with appropriate attention to patients' modesty

  3. Students will be able to approach history-taking and documentation with the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in a patient-centered manner

  4. Students will be able to describe the special considerations in interviewing and examining children, adolescents and older adults

  5. Students will gain a deeper understanding about the ethical issues in health care

  6. Students will be able to describe psychosocial, cultural and healthcare systems issues affecting the health of older adults
