Overarching Course Goals for Integrated Musculoskeletal System

  • Recognize the population health impact of common musculoskeletal conditions
  • Understand how the musculoskeletal system responds to use, disuse and injury
  • Understand the pathophysiology of inflammatory arthropathy
  • Know how to formulate a differential diagnosis for common musculoskeletal complaints
  • Recognize appropriate medical imaging modalities and laboratory tests based on patient history and physical exam findings
