Expectations

During the third year of the MD Program curriculum, medical students at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison will complete a rotation with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Students are expected to meet the following expectations:
Proactive Learning
As aspiring professionals, students are expected to be proactive learners while on the clerkship. This means preparing for didactics and clinical assignments by using available resources. It also means actively seeking appropriate opportunities to be involved in patient care.
Absences
The obstetrics and gynecology clerkship strictly applies the medical school policy on absences. Students will fill out and submit the UW School of Medicine and Public Health form for scheduled absences to Janet Short.
In case of unexpected absences, students should call Janet Short at (608) 417-7909 as soon as possible. Unexcused absences will be handled by Kathy Stewart, MD, the clerkship director, and may result in consequences ranging from making up the missed time to repeating the entire clerkship.
