Information is also available from any current MSTP student and the MSTP directors. The Medical Scientist Training Program office is in the Health Sciences Learning Center, near the medical school admissions office and the offices of key personnel at the School of Medicine and Public Health, including student services and multicultural affairs.


Chelsea Hanewall, MSTP Co-Administrator


Chelsea HanewallChelsea Hanewall is the Medical Scientist Training Program Program co-administrator, hired in 2012. Prior to joining the MSTP, she worked for the UW Institute for Clinical and Translational Research in the Research Education and Career Development core. Chelsea has a BA in Physiology from the University of Minnesota and has experience with student data tracking and reporting, communications and marketing, and research administration.


Chelsea has become the principal staff person in the Medical Scientist Training Program for admissions, recruitment, program evaluation, appointments and terminations, student support, annual events, grant administration and curriculum management. MSTP students, leadership and faculty have depended on her organizational skills, attention to detail, tenacity and creative problem solving to enhance the MSTP and move the program forward.


Jane Lambert, MSTP Co-Administrator


Jane LambertJane joined the Medical Scientist Training Program as a co-administrator in 2016 after 13 years as a student services coordinator in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health's Department of Population Health Sciences, administering the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health and Society Scholars program. She has also administered two different NIH T32 training grants with multiple successful renewals and brings a wealth of experience to the MSTP office. Jane is a UW-Madison graduate with a BA in history and an MA in English literature.
