The following frequently asked questions will help prospective students understand the admissions process for the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

When is the AMCAS due?

November 1, 2012

When is the UW MSTP secondary application due?

December 1, 2012

What are the interview dates for the UW MSTP?

We host three interview weekends:

  • October 11-14, 2012 (to be considered for this interview session, all application materials must be received by September 1, 2012)
  • November 29-December 2, 2012
  • January 17-20, 2013

Do I need to complete a separate application for the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health MD program?

No.

By completing our admission requirements, you are also submitting everything that the MD Program in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health requires. Therefore, you do not need to submit a separate application for the MD program. We will review your application first.

If you are not accepted into the MSTP and wish to be considered for the MD program, we will take your file to the MD admissions office for their review. (There is a circle to check on the Applicant Questionnaire page of our secondary to indicate this preference.)

Who should I contact if I have other questions?

Paul Cook, pscook@wisc.edu
