Bio: Dr. Leo Ganem has a bachelor's degree in Biology from Wittenberg University and a Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology from UW-Madison. After leaving UW, he spent one year as a post-doctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School in Boston where he did research on the links between the immune system and obesity. In 2001, Dr. Ganem left the lab life and the USA to join the Rio de Janeiro office of McKinsey & Co as an associate consultant focused mainly on business strategy for Pharmaceutical companies. In 2004, after acquiring experience in several different businesses, Dr. Ganem joined Som Livre Records, one of the largest independent record labels worldwide, as chief financial officer. He was recently promoted to the CEO position, and unfortunately the closest he gets to any science involves trying new types of corn in his farm outside of Rio.
