ID Card

New students should obtain a University Student ID card after they have registered for classes. The Photo ID office is located in Union South, Room B109; 262-3258 or 262-0707; Email

Regular hours are 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday-Friday, although they have extended hours at the start of each semester. You will need to present some form of personal photo identification (e.g., a driver's license, passport, etc.). A fee is charged for replacement of lost or stolen cards. Any card that becomes worn or damaged through normal wear and tear will be replaced free of charge if the damaged card is surrendered. Each time a new card is made the issue code is updated, thereby voiding all previous cards made.

The UW-Madison photo ID card is the property of the University and is non-transferable. Fraudulent use or reproduction of a UW-Madison ID card violates Wisconsin criminal statutes and could result in prosecution.
