Lab Notebooks

Ask your advisor if blank laboratory notebooks are available. Each student should discuss with his or her mentor how the notebooks should be kept. The Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) provides information on Research Notebook Guidelines . The book “At the Bench, a Laboratory Manual”, also has a chapter on laboratory notebooks.

Your notebooks are the property of the University and must remain with your major professor when you leave. You may make copies of your notebooks to take with you if you wish.
