Year 1
Fall Semester
Register for a minimum of eight (8) credits including 625-Toxicology 1, 990-Independent Research (lab rotations) and 800-graduate seminar. Odd year you’d also register for 634-Ecotoxicology: Impacts on Populations, Communities and Ecosystems . Send your final undergraduate transcript showing your degree to the UW-Madison Graduate School, as they will not let you register for the spring semester until they receive this document. In late November select a major professor.
Spring Semester
Register for a minimum of eight (8) credits including 626-Toxicology 2, 631-Toxicants in the Environment, 990-Independent Research and 800-graduate seminar. In consultation with your major professor (and minor professor if applicable), select other courses and begin to choose your Research Advisory Committee members. Begin research project.
Summer Semester
Register for two (2) credits of 990-Research. Meet with Research Advisory Committee to get to know each other; provide Committee with list of courses taken and those you plan to take; have Committee approve your course plan. Send a copy of signed certification form to the METC Program Coordinator.
