Year 2
Fall Semester
Register for a minimum of eight (8) credits including 990-Independent Research and 800-graduate seminar. If odd year, then register for 634-Ecotoxicology: Impacts on Populations, Communities and Ecosystems
All METC students must take 812 Research Ethics and Career Development by the end of their second year. Make sure that all major and minor course requirements are fulfilled by end of the spring semester. Continue research. If student took Prelim A during their 1st summer, then be end of this semester (fall semester/2nd year) you should take your Oral Prelim B.
Spring Semester
If you have reached dissertator status, register for (3) three credits including 990-Independent Research and 800-graduate seminar. If you have not reached dissertator status then you need to register for a minimum of eight (8) credits. Make sure that all major and minor course requirements are fulfilled by end of spring semester. Continue research.
Summer Session
Assuming you have reached dissertator status, register for two (2) credits of Research. If you have not reached dissertator status then you need to register for a minimum of eight (8) credits. Continue research. Upon successful completion of preliminary exam course, schedule your oral prelim exam so that it is completed by the end of the current calendar year. If unable to schedule your oral prelim by end of calendar year, you must petition GACC for an extension. Contact METC Program Coordinator for more information. Meet with your certification/research advisory committee.
