Martinez-Donate Earns Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers

Ana Martinez-Donate is one of two honorees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison to receive the 16th Annual UW System Outstanding Women of Color in Education Award.
Martinez-Donate is an assistant professor of population health sciences at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. She is also a member of the UW Carbone Cancer Center's Cancer Control research program.
Martinez-Donate and the second UW-Madison honoree, Leslie Bow, professor of English and Asian American studies, will be honored along with other UW System honorees at a formal recognition ceremony on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St. on the campus of UW-Madison.
In total, there are six honorees. The awards and recognition luncheon will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin System Women's Studies Consortium and the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Family and guests of the honorees will be invited to attend.
The Outstanding Women of Color in Education awards are sponsored by the Wisconsin Women's Studies Consortium, which will hold its 35th Annual Conference March 25-26, 2011 at the Pyle Center.
A campus-wide reception honoring the UW-Madison award recipients is being planned for April 2011.
