Public Health Education and Training Subcommittee

The Wisconsin Partnership Program's Public Health Education and Training (PHET) Subcommittee provides advice and recommendations to the Oversight and Advisory Committee (OAC) on the development of education and training programs for public health practitioners in Wisconsin.

The PHET subcommittee consists of seven public members and two University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health faculty members.

The Public Health Education and Training Subcommittee will:

• Provide recommendations on public health education initiatives including the Wisconsin Public Health Leadership Institute, the Community-Based Population Health Practice Fellowships, and Continuing Education on Public Health topics
• Assure that educational initiatives address identified public health education needs of practitioners in the state
• Review proposals and make recommendations for new and emerging educational training programs
• Explore collaborative educational initiatives with the Medical College of Wisconsin
• Assure involvement of the broader public health community
• Use the state health plan as a guiding resource
  

Public Health Education and Training Subcommittee Membership

Members of the Public Health Education and Training (PHET) Subcommittee will be appointed by the Oversight and Advisory Committee Chair, with the advice of the committee, and may include individuals not appointed to the committee.

External members may include representatives from community organizations, public health groups, the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, the Wisconsin Public Health Association, educators and the Medical Education and Research Committee (MERC).

The Public Health Education and Training Subcommittee should include at least two members of the Oversight and Advisory Committee and three external members, with at least one member from a governmental public health organization and one member from a not-for-profit community organization.

The chair of the Public Health Education and Training Subcommittee will be appointed by the Oversight and Advisory Committee chair. The Public Health Education and Training Subcommittee will be staffed by the program administrative staff of The Wisconsin Partnership Fund.
