Madison, Wisconsin - Greg Nycz, Executive Director of the Family Health Center of Marshfield, Inc., and a key public representative to the UW School of Medicine and Public Health's Wisconsin Partnership Program (WPP), has been named to the National Institutes of Health Director's Council of Public Representatives.
The Council of Public Representatives is a 21-member federal advisory committee composed of members of the public who advise the NIH director on issues related to public input and participation in NIH activities, the NIH research priority setting process and public outreach programs and efforts.
Nycz serves on both the Oversight and Advisory and Medical Education and Research committees of the WPP. The committees are dedicated to improving the health of people of Wisconsin and addressing disparities in underserved communities through investments in education, research and community partnerships.
Since its inception in 2004, the Wisconsin Partnership Program has provided more than $70 million to researchers and community organizations throughout Wisconsin.
"I am greatly pleased with the honor bestowed by NIH on Greg Nycz, who has been a critical member of the WPP's two governance committees," said Robert Golden, Dean of the School of Medicine and Public Health. "He has provided outstanding service to the people of Wisconsin in his role as a public representative to the WPP, and I know he will bring the same commitment, vision, and values to his work on the NIH Council of Public Representatives."
