Community-Academic Partnership Request for Partnerships 2012

The Wisconsin Partnership Program anticipates releasing a 2012 Community-Academic Partnership Fund (CAPF) Request for Partnerships by the end of April 2012.

Through the Community-Academic Partnership Fund, the Wisconsin Partnership Program (WPP) supports efforts by Wisconsin community-based organizations and government agencies working in tandem with an academic partner to improve the health of Wisconsin residents and advance the goals of the State Health Plan, Healthiest Wisconsin 2020.

There are two types of grants available:

  • Implementation Grants: Up to $400,000 for three years for projects that either employ or test evidence-based health interventions

  • Development Grants: Up to $50,000 for up to two years for the development of new partnerships, demonstration or pilot projects, or smaller implementation projects

Emphasis on Evaluation, Sustainability and Dissemination

The evaluation criteria for grant applications will place an emphasis on measurable outcomes, dissemination, and sustainability. Specifically, implementation grant applications with the best chances of being funded will include strong evaluation designs with feasible sustainability plans, including activities leading to environmental, institutional or policy change.

Development grant applications with the best chances of being funded will include evidence-based processes and include specific plans for "next steps" - how will this project serve as a basis for a future Implementation grant for Wisconsin Partnership Program or for other funding sources.

Partnership Development Requirement

Beginning in the 2012 funding cycle, only existing community academic partnerships will be eligible for new Implementation grants. The preferred way of meeting this requirement is to complete a Partnership Development Grant, although other demonstrated collaboration will be considered.

Community groups interested in future implementation grants should take this into account when planning for future funding cycles.
