Information and Training Sessions
In September 2009, the Wisconsin Partnership Program, Oversight and Advisory Committee (OAC) released the Request for Proposals for the Lifecourse Initiative for Healthy Families (LIHF) Community Action Planning Grants.
The LIHF reflects the Wisconsin Partnership Program's long-term commitment to reducing racial and ethnic disparities in birth outcomes. The Lifecourse Initiative for Healthy Families will work to identify the needs of African American women and their families and to pursue new opportunities to address those needs across their lifespan.
The Wisconsin Partnership Program will award up to four Community Action Planning Grants to targeted Wisconsin communities to create plans for improving healthy birth outcomes and reduce African American infant health disparities. These communities are Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha and Beloit Wisconsin.
The WPP will accept only one collaboratively developed Community Action Planning proposal from a convening planning agency on behalf of each partnering community.
In October 2009, the Wisconsin Partnership Program is sponsoring four information and training sessions for potential applicants. Lorraine Lathen, Lifecourse Initiative for Healthy Families Program Leader, and members of the LIHF Steering Committee will present information on the Wisconsin Partnership Program and the Lifecourse Initiative for Healthy Families project and provide training on the LIHF Community Action Planning grant application requirements.
