Heidi Conrad, MBA
Heidi G. Conrad, MBA, chief financial officer, guides the financial health of the school and directs its fiscal management and operations by overseeing budgeting, reporting, and management of school funds.

Conrad provides strategic leadership to the school’s Office of Fiscal Affairs. The Office of Fiscal Affairs provides fiscal and administrative support to more than 50 departments, centers, institutes, and administrative units within the School of Medicine and Public Health. The office provides assistance for a variety of funding types, including school funding, grants, gifts, and recharge funds. In addition, Conrad plays a pivotal role in the school’s strong relationships with the UW–Madison campus, UW Health, and other key partners, such as the UW Foundation and Alumni Association.
Prior to joining the school, she held progressive leadership roles at HealthPartners, a Minnesota-based $7 billion integrated, nonprofit system. As vice president and chief financial officer for Regions Hospital, she partnered with HealthPartners and higher education leaders focused on graduate medical education, such as at the University of Minnesota, to enhance and grow the HealthPartners sponsored residency programs.
Conrad participates in various UW–Madison campuswide committees and serves on the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics finance and audit committees and the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation audit committee.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting at UW–Madison, followed by an MBA from Hamline University.
From 2007-16, she served on the board of the Minnesota Metropolitan Council for Graduate Medical Education, including a year as board chair. In this role, she optimized financial support and increased the quality of graduate medical education. Since 2019, she has served on the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In 2019, she was named a Chief Financial Officer of the Year by Business Journal.
