The UW Health Clinical Simulation Program has named Shannon DiMarco the new director of Simulation Center operations.
DiMarco comes to UW Health with extensive background in simulation program operations. She most recently served as the manager of operations of the simulation center at Children’s Minnesota. Prior to that, she worked as a simulation laboratory manager in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
As the director of simulation center operations, DiMarco will partner with Ryan Thompson, MD, simulation medical director, to manage the Clinical Simulation Program—a joint venture between UW Health and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
DiMarco is currently enrolled in the master of science in health care simulation program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her anticipated graduation date is December 2020. She is a member of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
DiMarco assumes the new role on Dec. 30, 2019.
The Clinical Simulation Program thanks Michele Glynn, DNP, RN-BC, for serving as the interim director of the simulation center during this vacancy.
