Doctor of Physical Therapy Program

The University of Wisconsin–Madison’s Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program is among U.S. News & World Report’s top 10% of physical therapy programs in the country. We provide a welcoming, collaborative environment and an integrative, team-taught curriculum.

Since 1926, the UW DPT program has been preparing students to be leaders in their field, committed to excellence and community service. Your future is here.

Why UW Madison?

As one of five health professions programs within the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, we offer unique collaborative learning opportunities across a wide range of disciplines and settings. Students have access to facilities such as the Clinical Teaching and Assessment Center, working with standardized patients, the Clinical Simulation Program and a full cadaver dissection lab.

Renowned Faculty and Staff

DPT faculty and staff are collaborative and student-focused. Faculty members hold clinical specialist certifications in geriatrics, pediatrics, neurology, orthopedics and sports. They demonstrate research excellence and facilitate student involvement at professional conferences, student conclaves and state legislative days.

Unique Opportunities

The University of Wisconsin is one of only five programs in the U.S. to offer the DPT-MPH dual degree. In fours years students can complete both degrees and emerge prepared to apply public health skills to their clinical careers.

To me, the faculty are the stars of this program. Each brings a unique perspective that truly sets this program apart from others.
