Allison Golden, MA, is the chief of staff to the dean of the School of Medicine and Public Health and the vice chancellor for medical affairs at UW–Madison. In this role, she serves as an advisor to Dean Robert N. Golden, MD (no relation), and as a member of the Dean’s Leadership Team, which is responsible for the development and implementation of the school’s strategic direction.

Golden joined the School of Medicine and Public Health in May 2018. She represents the dean on a wide range of strategic, organizational and operational priorities and initiatives, including alignment with the health system, administrative policies and campus relations. Golden oversees a team responsible for the following functions: the Office of Strategic Communications, the Wisconsin Medical Alumni Association,  signature events and administrative support for the dean.

Prior to coming to the School of Medicine and Public Health, Golden was employed by Georgetown University, Seattle University and the Office of the Chancellor at UW–Madison, in roles related to executive communications, mission alignment and issues management.

She holds a master’s degree in English literature from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Mary Washington.
