Associate Director of Research

April Hall, PhD, MS, CGC, is the associate director of research for the MGCS program. She is a genetic counselor and researcher with the Center for Human Genetics and Precision Medicine, where her main role is with the undiagnosed disease clinic and research study while pursuing her interests in both genetics research and genetic counseling.

Hall became interested in genetics as an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where she received a BS in human biology, psychology and Spanish in 2005. She received her PhD in molecular and human genetics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 2011, where her research focused on the genetic causes of neuropsychiatric conditions and developing genetic tests to better diagnose those disorders.

Hall received her master’s degree in genetic counseling from Indiana University in 2013 and worked as a pediatric genetic counselor at a private hospital in Indianapolis for a year and a half.
