Bobbie Coons is the student affairs manager for the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. She assists in coordination and support of student services initiatives for multiple graduate programs, including the MPH program. In this role, she collaborates with program staff and faculty to enhance student support, onboarding and training, and serves as chair of the MPH promotion committee.
Coons is a seasoned student affairs professional with over 20 years of experience supporting learners across higher education. Her career spans academic advising, recruitment, compliance and student engagement. She has held leadership roles in both in-person and online education settings, and has developed policies, training programs and student resources that promote equity, inclusion, and academic success. Her approach is rooted in strategic planning, relationship building, and a deep commitment to student-centered service. She holds a master’s degree in postsecondary education–student affairs from the University of Northern Iowa and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and political science from UW-Platteville.
