Elizabeth Felton, MD, PhD

Elizabeth Felton became an associate director of the UW Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) in 2021. She is also an assistant professor of neurology in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health and affiliate faculty in the Department of Biomedical Engineering.
Felton chairs the MSTP Diversity Committee and serves on the MSTP Steering Committee, showing her commitment to helping the program with recruitment and retention of underrepresented minority students.
She created the UW Health Adult Epilepsy Dietary Therapy Clinic and developed a clinical research program investigating the use of the ketogenic therapies for adults with epilepsy. This is aimed at addressing the large gap in knowledge regarding the mechanisms, optimal patient selection, and potential beneficial effects (beyond seizure reduction) of ketogenic therapy for epilepsy in adults with a special emphasis on women with epilepsy.
Felton is a graduate of the UW Medical Scientist Training Program and completed her neurology residency and fellowship in epilepsy at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.
