In her role as director of clinical education, Emily Smith coordinates clinical rotations and supports students’ education throughout their clinical year. She also assists with other courses and activities in the Physician Assistant (PA) program, including EKG and emergency medicine lectures.
Prior to joining the PA program as teaching faculty in 2026, Smith worked for over 10 years in emergency medicine and four years in clinical cardiac electrophysiology. She has a special interest in prevention and lifestyle medicine and is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.
Smith received her physician’s assistant degree from UW–Madison in 2007, and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from UW–Madison in 2017. She earned an undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
