Jeanne Duncan is director of clinical education for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. She coordinates and co-instructs PT 523 Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Implications for the Physical Therapist and PT 543 Professional Practice Issues in Physical Therapy. She holds a clinic appointment at University Health Services, where she provides PT services to students.

Duncan joined the UW–Madison Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2013 as the academic coordinator of clinical education and transitioned into her current role in 2016. She is responsible for developing contractual agreements with clinical facilities that educate Doctor of Physical Therapy program students, placing students in these clinical internships and ensuring students’ clinical competence throughout the curriculum. She provides feedback to faculty on curricular needs based on student and clinical instructor reports. Duncan is currently serving as Academic Co-chair of the American Physical Therapy Association-WI Clinical Education Special Interest Group.

Prior to joining the UW–Madison Doctor of Physical Therapy program, Duncan provided patient care in rural areas in Wisconsin and Washington. She has a passion for the “generalist” role in the PT profession that is often needed in these underserved areas.

Duncan received her bachelor of science in physical therapy from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1998 and her transitional doctorate in physical therapy from the College of St. Scholastica in 2016.
