Dr. Cropes serves as assistant director of clinical education for the DPT program. He also provides orthopedic physical therapy services to students through University Health Services. Cropes teaches Physical Therapy Education and Lifespan Learning Issues (PT 539), Issues of Culture and Diversity in Health Care (PT 541), and Biophysical Agents (PT 521).
Cropes is an APTA credentialed clinical instructor, a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy (OCS), and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). He serves as a liaison to the UW Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education (CIPE). Cropes also teaches in the UW Health UnityPoint Health-Meriter Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program.
His primary interests include pain science and clinical management of patients with chronic pain conditions.
Cropes earned a bachelor of science degree in human physiology from the University of Iowa, and a doctor of physical therapy degree from Northwestern University. He has completed post-professional clinical training in the UW Health and UnityPoint Health-Meriter Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program and the Northwestern University Fellowship in Advanced Orthopedic Physical Therapy Practice, Research, and Education.
