McArdle Scientists to Hold Research Q&A for Public

Madison, Wisconsin - Scientists from the world-renowned McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research will be available to answer questions about their research at the Free House Pub in Middleton on Tuesday, October 15, from 5:30 to 7:30pm. This event is free and open to the public.


McArdle Laboratory for Cancer ResearchMcArdle scientists have gained an international reputation for their ground-breaking research on the basic processes involved in the initiation, progression and treatment of cancer. A short presentation at 5:30pm will be followed by informal discussion. 


The McArdle Laboratory, also known as the Department of Oncology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, was founded as one of the first basic cancer research centers in an academic institution in the United States.


Currently located in the unique, geometrically adorned building at 1400 University Avenue, McArdle Labs will move to the second tower of the Wisconsin Institutes of Medical Research this winter.


Many faculty of McArdle also contribute as active members and leaders in the UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC). The UWCCC holds the unique distinction of being the only comprehensive cancer center in Wisconsin, as designated by the National Cancer Institute, the lead federal agency for cancer research.


The Free House Pub is located at 1902 Parmenter St., Middleton.
