PharmD-MPH

The Doctor of Pharmacy-Master of Public Health (PharmD-MPH) dual degree program prepares students to integrate knowledge and skills in the delivery of pharmaceutical care with public health principles.

The dual degree allows for completion of both degrees in five years. The MPH degree is completed between the third and fourth year of pharmacy school. Students step out of pharmacy school after their third year to complete the majority of their MPH course work in one academic year.

The MPH Applied Practice Experience is fulfilled in conjunction with the PharmD elective APPE.

Students interested in the dual degree program can apply to the MPH program during the first or second year of pharmacy school. Students apply through the MPH application. All applicants must be reviewed and admitted by the pharmacy and MPH program separately.

While dual degree students step out of pharmacy school after their third year, interested applicants only have the opportunity to apply during the first two years of pharmacy school due to the timeline for scheduling APPEs.
