Year 1

  • PT 501 Anatomical Applications in Physical Therapy (Cobey/Doster) 3 credits
  • PT 538 Introduction to the Physical Therapy Profession and Professionalism (Wenker) 1 credit

Semester 2 Fall

Early September–Late December (Time off for Thanksgiving recess)

  • PT 500 Functional Neuroanatomy in Physical Therapy (Uhlrich) 3 credits
  • PT 527 Foundations of Physical Therapy Examination and Evaluation (Cobey/Doster) 4 credits
  • PT 539 Physical Therapy Education and Lifespan Learning Issues (Cropes) 1 credit
  • PT 627 Clinical Decision-Making: Tissue Mechanics and Adaptations (Knurr /Watson) 3 credits

  • PT 703 9-Week Internship IV (Duncan)  9 credits

Mid-November–Mid-December

Courses:

  • PT 704 4 weeks of 9-Week Clinical Internship V (Duncan)  4 credits

(*one extra week built in to accommodate the holidays between PT 704 and PT 706)

Semester 9 Spring

Late December–Late January

Courses:

  • PT 706 5 weeks of 9-Week Clinical Internship VII (Duncan)  5 credits

Early February–Early April

Courses:

  •  PT 705 9-Week Clinical Internship VI (Duncan) 9 credits

PT 642: Research Practicum (1-3 credits)

** PT 799 Independent Study (1-3 credits)

*This 9-week internship is spread over two semesters so you must register for both PT 704 (4 weeks) in the fall and PT 706 (5 weeks) in the spring. However, you will notice that the actual span of time is 10 weeks; this is to allow you to take a week off over the holidays.

** Potential independent studies and other credit courses: Tai Chi, Sports Elective, Medical Spanish, Global Health Certificate.
