Dipesh Navsaria, MD, associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, is one of 14 recipients of the prestigious 2018 Academy Fellows Award from the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters. Navsaria is the first pediatrician to be named to this group.
“I am honored to be named a Fellow of the Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters,” said Navsaria.
Navsaria practices primary care pediatrics and is especially interested in underserved populations. Navsaria has a graduate degree in children’s librarianship and is the medical director for Reach Out and Read Wisconsin. He also serves as medical director of the physician assistant program and director of the MD-Masters of Public Health dual-degree program.
Navsaria is the current vice president of the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has served on several national committees and is co-founder of the Early Literacy subcommittee of the Council on Early Childhood.
“ I am proud to have served this state through my practice, speaking to those who work with children and families throughout the state, advocacy work to protect and promote the well-being of children and education in medicine, public health and early literacy,” said Navsaria.
