UW School of Medicine and Public Health prepares for mock site visit

Members of the mock team are:

• J. Kevin Dorsey, MD, PhD, professor of medicine and former dean and provost, Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (mock team chair)
• John F. Mahoney, MD, MS, professor emergency medicine and associate dean for medical education, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine
• Jenifer Koestler, MD, professor of pediatrics and senior associate dean of medical education, New York Medical College-School of Medicine
• Aaron L. Friedman, MD, professor emeritus, SMPH; and former vice president of health sciences and dean, University of Minnesota School of Medicine

The SMPH self-study report and data collection instrument have been provided to the mock site visitors, who will meet with key leaders and groups within the school to review our performance on more than 100 LMCE standards. Their feedback will be invaluable to guide our continuous improvement efforts in the final months of preparation for our official visit.

Faculty and others who will meet with the mock site visitors will be furnished with materials to help them prepare. We are excited to have this opportunity to showcase our many strengths and the important work we are doing to continuously improve our performance. If you are participating in a mock site visit session, or simply have informal contact with the visitors during their stay, please take pride in welcoming them and representing SMPH.
