The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, through the Office of the Senior Associate Dean for Basic Research, Biotechnology and Graduate Studies, announces a call for applications for the 2015 Lily’s Fund Fellowship to support research training in epilepsy related research.

The successful candidate will be mentored by a UW faculty member to:

  • Develop critical skills in research
  • Advance their understanding of epilepsy and related scientific issues
  • Commence a career in epilepsy related research

Lily's Fund

The Lily’s Fund Fellowship provides up to 2 years of pre- or post-doctoral funding at one-half of current NIH NRSA stipend levels, plus fringe benefits. The applicant’s mentor must identify matching funds to fund the Fellowship fully. No indirect costs may be charged to this award.

To be eligible for a Lily’s Fund Fellowship, pre-doctoral applicants must have achieved dissertator status, and post-doctoral applicants must have received their MD or PhD degrees. All applicants must desire experience in epilepsy related research.

Clinical fellows are eligible, but support will be limited to the research year, and matching funds are still required. Mentors are encouraged to recruit nationally and internationally for this fellowship opportunity.

The deadline for full proposals for this internal competition is noon on August 7, 2014. Please review the attachment (pdf) for complete application information.

Please submit 8 complete paper copies and one electronic copy of the application materials to:

Dr. Tracy Cabot, Office of the Senior Associate Dean

Room 4113 Health Sciences Learning Center

UW School of Medicine and Public Health

Finalists will be interviewed by the review committee in fall 2014, and this year’s Lily’s Fund Fellow will be announced in spring 2015 for a July 1, 2015 start date.

Please contact Tracy Cabot at (608) 263-6515 or tlcabot@wisc.edu if you have questions.
