Seminar Series Focuses on Careers in Health Care and Life Sciences

The Wisconsin Institute for Discovery and University of Wisconsin-Madison Center for Pre-Health Advising will present a seven-part lecture series for students interested in careers in health care and the life sciences.

 

"Discovering Careers in Health Care and Life Sciences" will show prospective students what it is like to work in the health sciences, and provide advice on how to get there.

 

At each session, leading Madison-area health care practitioners and researchers will discuss the challenges and rewards of practicing in their fields.

 

Representatives from regional and national professional schools and universities will also offer insight on how to be an attractive candidate for admission to their programs.

 

Lectures take place from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Topics are:

  • Jan. 24: Medicine
  • Feb. 7: Public Health
  • Feb. 21: Physician Assistant Training
  • March 7: Research in the Life Sciences
  • March 21: Nursing
  • April 4: Career Options in Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology
  • April 18: Health Policy and Management
