David Bernhardt, MD, professor of pediatrics and orthopedics and rehabilitation at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, was named the 2017 recipient of the Thomas E. Shaffer Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics Award.
The award, which is sponsored by Nationwide Children’s Hospital, recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to the field of pediatric sports medicine by displaying leadership and vision, providing quality presentations, and publishing documents relevant to this specialty. Bernhardt is the second UW Health physician to receive the award.
