Charles Brokopp, DrPH, has been elected president-elect for the national Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL).
Brokopp, a professor of population health sciences at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and director of the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene, will serve as president-elect for one year and will assume the Association of Public Health Laboratories president role in June 2012.
The Association of Public Health Laboratories is the national association for state and local public health laboratories with a mission of promoting the role of public health laboratories in shaping national and global health objectives, and promoting policies, programs and technologies that assure continuous improvement in the quality of laboratory practice and health outcomes.
