CDC Selects Remington to Present Langmuir Lecture

Patrick Remington, MD, MPH, has been selected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to present the 2010 Langmuir Lecture at the 59th annual Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) Conference.

Remington, associate dean for public health at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, will discuss the epidemiologic issues surrounding the use of county-level monitoring of health determinants and health outcomes.

Established in 1972, the Langmuir lectureship is one of the most prestigious in the nation in public health and epidemiology. Past lecturers include Abraham Lilienfeld, Sir Richard Doll, Geoffrey Rose and Jonas Salk.

Remington will present his lecture on April 21. The Epidemic Intelligence Service Conference takes place April 19-23 in Atlanta.
