Madison, Wisconsin - The Wisconsin Partnership Program Education and Research Committee (WPPERC) released its New Investigator Program Request for Proposals on May 12, 2011.
The New Investigator Program supports the development of innovative research and educational approaches from tenure-track, clinical health sciences (CHS) and clinician-teacher (CT) assistant professors at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
In 2010, three proposals were funded through this program. The Wisconsin Partnership Program Education and Research Committee expects to fund a similar number of projects in 2011.
Grant awards: New Investigator Program grants are worth up to $100,000 and may last for up to two years.
Applicant Eligibility: This program seeks to help new faculty develop research interests. Tenure track applicants must have a formal start after January 1, 2008. CHS and CT applicants must have a formal start date after January 1, 2006. Please direct any questions about eligibility to the Wisconsin Partnership Program at wpp@hslc.wisc.edu.
Application Process: The application process in entirely web-based. A preliminary application is required prior to submission of a full application. Preliminary applications will be screened for eligibility and viability. Applicants who qualify will be invited to submit a full application. Finalists will be interviewed by the Medical Education and Research Committee.
Information Session Webcast: An information session webcast for potential applicants will be available on May 20, 2011 (see Additional Resources on the New Investigator Program page). Others working with faculty on developing an application are also encouraged to view the webcast.
