Patrick Remington Named to Oversight and Advisory Committee

Patrick Remington, MD, MPH, will bring his wealth of public health experience to the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health Oversight and Advisory Committee (OAC).

 

Patrick RemingtonThe school's first Associate Dean of Public Health was named to the OAC by the UW System Board of Regents at their August meeting.

 

Composed of representatives of the public and the university, the Oversight and Advisory Committee administers the Wisconsin Partnership Program's community-academic partnership programs.

 

In addition to his service on the OAC, Remington is a member of the Wisconsin Partnership Program's Medical Education and Research Committee. This committee oversees the Partnership Program's educational and research initiatives.

 

Remington will be one of four representatives from the School of Medicine and Public Health on the Oversight and Advisory Committee. He assumes the seat previously held by David Kindig, MD, PhD, a professor emeritus in the school's Department of Population Health Sciences. Kindig's expertise in the area of health policy was a vital contribution to the committee.

 

Remington was appointed the school's first Associate Dean for Public Health in 2009. He joined the UW Department of Population Health Sciences in 1997. His current research examines methods to measure the health outcomes and determinants in populations, as well as health disparities by education, race or region.
