Dr. Carla Pugh Featured in Slate Magazine

Carla PughDr. Carla Pugh, associate professor of surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, was recently featured in a Slate Magazine article titled "Close Call in the ER: How One Desperate Young Doctor Became a Surgical Visionary."

 

The article, which is an excerpt from the book "Play at Work: How Games Inspire Breakthrough Thinking," recounts an experience Pugh had while working the late-night shift in the emergency room, and how that experience inspired her to improve training for health professionals.

 

Pugh is vice chair for education and Patient Safety in the Department of Surgery and clinical director of the UW Health Clinical Simulation Program
