“Dementia Matters” podcasts that offer basic information about Alzheimer’s disease are now available from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
The Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC) began the podcasts in hopes of keeping the general public informed on the latest headlines, research studies and caregiver resources.
“Alzheimer’s disease is the only cause of death among the top 10 in America that cannot be cured or even slowed. It impacts more than five million Americans age 65 and older,” said Nathaniel Chin, MD, host of the podcast and assistant professor of medicine (geriatrics and gerontology) at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. “We wanted to offer a resource to learn about the disease at a basic level and also offer tips for healthy brain aging.”
Chin interviews experts on topics ranging from gender differences in Alzheimer’s disease to lifetime stress and brain health.
There is a new podcast every other Tuesday. You can listen to episodes through the ARDC’s website or subscribe to “Dementia Matters” through iTunes, Stitcher or Google Play.
