UW-Madison Division of Sports Recreation
The mission of the Division of Recreational Sports is to enhance the UW-Madison experience by providing excellent programs, services, and facilities that promote and inspire the social, mental, and physical wellbeing of the campus community.
At Rec Sports, we provide opportunities for individuals to live their healthiest lives. Our participants include UW-Madison students, faculty and staff, alumni, retirees, and community members. In our facilities on campus, we offer group fitness classes, intramural sports, lessons, certification courses, personal training, youth programs, and more. Our goal is to help Badgers practice healthy habits now, so that one day it will become their lifestyle.
We are currently in the middle of a $236 million Master Plan that will bring two new outdoor fields and two new indoor facilities to campus. Our first indoor project, the $87.5 million Nicholas Recreation Center, is expected to open next fall, and next summer, we’ll officially change our name to University Recreation & Wellbeing to better represent all that we do.
